2024 is the Year of the Humanoid. Nvidia’s CEO revealed on Monday its plan to launch a software and hardware platform aimed at crafting humanoid robots capable of evolving through generative AI. Meanwhile, Apple is in discussions with Google to incorporate "Gemini" into its iPhones, while unveiling the MM1 AI model, poised to enhance Siri with new capabilities. In a significant move, Microsoft has announced a new AI division, placing Google’s DeepMind co-founder at its helm. Adding a dash of candid insight, Sam Altman admitted the latest iteration of ChatGPT "kinda sucks," and expressed regret over the choice of name for OpenAI. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop OpenAI from dropping new Sora videos, immediately dubbed "Bananas". 

Saudi Arabia is going all-in on AI investments, aiming to establish a $40 billion fund, while the UAE is reportedly collaborating with OpenAI to finance its in-house chips. In the US, half of the population is now protected by state bans on non-consensual explicit images created with AI. The SEC has fined two RIAs for making bogus AI claims, and the FTC has launched an inquiry into Reddit's sale of user data for AI training, ahead of its IPO. The feds are taking notice too, with the Department of Homeland Security outlining a new AI roadmap and the FDA presenting its approach to AI regulation. And if you thought that was all, Stephen Hawking's posthumous warning about AI reminds us to proceed with caution. 💀

Nvidia and Ubisoft are bringing "Neo NPCs" to life, making sure your next gaming experience is as realistic as possible. Oh, and there’s now a humanoid robot capable of piloting a plane.
